Installing Raspbian Stretch to the Raspberry Pi #tt1

To get started with the Raspberry Pi, it needs to be loaded with an Operating System (OS). Some common ones are Noobs, Wheezy and Raspbian Stretch (formerly Jessie), and are a scaled down version of Linux. In this module we are going to install an image for Rasbian Stretch onto a Micro SD card.

Download Raspbian Stretch
The first thing you will need to do is download the image for Stretch. It's located here.
That will take a while to download, so while you're waiting, you can...
Download Win32Disk Imager and Format Your SD Card
This handy little app will allow you to write the downloaded image to the SD Card. You can download it from here.
Install the Win32 Disk Imager
After downloading the file, double-click to install and take all the defaults. Once installed, run it.
Copy Raspbian Stretch to Raspberry Pi
Insert an SD Card into your computer's Card Slot or Adapter. Unzip the Raspbian Stretch Image that you downloaded in the first step. Browse to the image from the Win32 Disk Imager. Click "Write" to copy the image to the SD Card:

Now that you have installed the Raspbian Operating System on the Raspberry Pi, you should next make some basic configuration changes.
